Uelzener Huntercup - Finale 2008

She's working on the 90% (again) (Tabasco's speaking)

Well it's about time that I get to speak in my diary and today I insist. I did not feel so good the last months - something ouched but I could not tell her and she did not find it. I felt that she felt that sth ouched and therefore she did not ride me as hard as usual. -- Now she did something to it, and apparently I feel a lot alot A LOT better. Maybe it was because I heard about her plans to show me in the big eventing playing ground in Lauterbach next month.

Friends, yesterday I was a lucky horse! I mean I am tired today, with my buddies out in the pasture, but boy that was fun yesterday! She took me with her funny husband who always accompanies us and he basically tries to get me to pee after one start and before the next. Strange, because I want to pee at home and then it took me a while to understand that peeing in-between starts in x-country is a big relief. Now it's good when her funny husband is with us because we go out to pee during the day.

That was a good ground to run on in - I believe the name of the place was Kaisersesch. If sth is real good I have to show her so she knows and does not stop me from going. We went in the course three times. First in hard rain, in the morning, sorry that was nothing to take serious, I did not know whether she wanted me to jump them or trot them, those little tiny things. But I guess I did right, I jumped. I did slowly, because the grass was slippery. I think it was some group ride because there was a white Trakehner behind me - he followed over the whole course.

Then next, our special discipline, Hunter 90. We came first starters of the field and the sun was out. The air was clean, and here we were going flying going FLYING!!! Nothing stopped me and every jump came just right and it was GREAT!!!! We came out with 86% (I tell you she will not give up until she reaches 90, but you see we're coming close) which was 2nd place in this course. She got a girly bag, I got a big pack of good-smelling food from RWZ (Raiffeisen) as a prize. A fair share.

After that she became strange again. I think sometimes she does not trust me. She came back from walking the third course, a StilgeländeA that's what they call it. Ah by the way I think the judges liked me and I like that!! So she came back to the trailer and she went on and on "it's raining and if it's raining I do not ride and stuff as Tabasco is tired he already went twice today and this is now REALLY a hard course and damn competition"... Good she took my leg protection off so my legs could cool down a little bit and then - thank God the rain stopped occasionally - she did it. What shall I say, I was indeed a little tired, but I showed once more that I am a Trakehner. We managed 19 jumps on 2.200m in a good pace with two or three technically demanding parts and waters (I LOVE waters! She HATES drop jumps (but honestly I don't care I always trick her then by just dropping as quick as I can and then - you see - it takes her three seconds or more before she realizes that I am already down the billiard and she is still alive ...)) and the judges told her that HER STIRRUPS ARE TOO LONG but otherwise that I am a good horse and we are a good couple because they say she's managing me and the jumps pretty well and they voted for a 7.2 which brought us another big pack of food for me!!!! Was 8th out of 20 something starters, placed.

And after that, I had the opportunity to go to the people area. I'd like to be there more often. It's funny to see how humans drink beer and sit there and chat (I try to move my mouth st. as they do but there are no funny noises coming out of my mouth) and eat funny things. I like that, as long as they let me eat my grass at the side (which she let me because you could see that she was in a real good mood at the end. I think sth hurts her too because a couple of months ago she could not ride because some other horse threw her off and now she complains about pain in her back and things that she cannot ride any longer and so on). So I do my best to make life easy for her. It was such a good day! It was so much fun to go my speed and nothing stops me and to show how well I jump!

She is working on the 90%. But that can only work if both she and I go a 100%!!!!!
