Photo: "Bauer relaxed"Well maybe this not too exciting times leave a little room to update the reader about "our day". Our typical day at the barn.
In theory, I am thinking about how to recover and get back in shape, for all of us. In theory, I discuss with the officials of the Hunterklasse in Germany about how to get this competition running more smoothly and professionally as there are some obvious bugs that need to be fixed.
In practice, however, we get up every morning at around 5h30. Tabbi and Landy are out there waiting for their first hay. They have hay available 24-h, but in the morning, they get a new load. Tabbi is - as usual - screening the surroundings as a good sheriff needs to know what's going on. Sometimes, though, Chris has found him lying and having a rest.--
A little later, around 6h30, both get their first real food. And while they eat, I usually clean the barn and make it ready for the day. And once that's done, I have my first coffee.
After that, our summer activity is "walking to the pasture". It is a 15mn walk and I tend to have one sheriff to stop and one Landy to pull (here I call him Schneckchen) at the same time. Might help get longer arms in the long run. Both boys are out there then for a half or full day, depending on the rest of the program.
Later, we go back. Grooming, riding etc. is on the schedule. And of course the evening meal. I think this standard program fits the minds of the boys pretty well - at least, I see no complaints of any sorts. As there is no stable and not too much water out there, they are happy to return to their "house" and up to now, they are motivated enough to work and move around. I will try to catch a pasture scene on video, it's real paradise: apple trees behind us, the lake with frogs and all kinds of birds in front of us. And cattle and other horses as neighbors.
